Shack-A-Thon

OVER $19000 this year! Thanks for all your support!!!

Shack-a-Thon will take place this year in front of G Rollie and Kyle Field from April 12th-16th.

One of our more memorable and well-known fundraisers, Shack-A-Thon, is an event in which we auction off spaces for various student organizations to build shacks. This year was a record setting auction year with $19,097 total bid.

Come check out the actual event in April!

Meeting Recap
About Habitat:
To get all the information about Aggie Habitat, including a calendar of events, visit: www.aggiehabitat.com.
I gave out a lot of information about Habitat for Humanity Intl. If you would like to learn more about Habitat, visit: www.habitat.org/how/default.aspx

Builds:
This semester we will be helping a lot with Washington County's Habitat for Humanity chapter and their home in Brenham. We will then turn to focus more here locally in October when we will begin helping with the construction of a home in Angel's Gate located in Bryan.
Also, Aggie Habitat girls have the opportunity to volunteer at some of the Women’s Circle builds.
In order to participate in builds, you don’t need any experience whatsoever. All you need is closed toe shoes, some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and a desire to help make a difference in someone’s life.

Socials:
The next social is tba If you are planning on going, please contact Andrew Nalundsan or sign up from the website.

Fundraisers:
This year we are planning on increasing our fundraising, and we need your help. Chris Jones will head a fundraising committee made up of members that want to help us reach our new fundraising goals. If you are interested, please contact Chris Jones.
Collecting membership dues is actually our largest fundraiser. If every member were to pay their dues, we would be half way towards sponsoring a house. If you need to pay dues, either come to the next meeting or contact our treasurer Kelsey Brawner.

Point System:
Our point system keeps track of exceptional involvement. At the end of every semester we recognize members with the most points. For more details on the point system, visit: ,www.aggiehabitat.com/info/points.aspx.

Next Meeting:
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday tba.
Thanks to everyone that came out to the last meeting. If you couldn’t make it, I look forward to meeting you at a future Aggie Habitat event.
