Shack-A-Thon

One of our more memorable and well-known fundraisers, Shack-A-Thon, is an event in which we auction off spaces on Rudder Plaza for various student organizations to build shacks.

Builds/signups:
Email Dave Oyler to sign up for socials or events. Sign up for builds at the biweekly meetings.
Remember guys: It's not necessary to have ANY build experience prior to volunteering at a build, and you should receive a reminder with all necessary information prior to a volunteer shift.

Campus Chapter of the Year runner-up

Aggie Habitat is proud to announce that we have been selected as a runner-up for Campus Chapter of the Year for 2007. This award recognizes Aggie Habitat as one of the top five chapters in the country. Chapters are selected based on leadership, communication with the affiliate, and commitment to spreading the ministry of Habitat for Humanity. The officers and leadership of Aggie Habitat would like to say thank you to all of our dedicated members who have worked hard to contribute to the success of the organization. We look forward to continuing with another great year. Keep up the good work!

Builds:
This year we are sponsoring a house for Donna McGreuter and her 2 year old granddaughter. They will be getting a 2 bedroom home in the Angel’s Gate subdivision.
The construction of Donna’s home began on Sept 13th.
Aggie Habitat girls have the opportunity to volunteer at some of the Women’s Circle builds.
In order to participate in builds, you don’t need any experience whatsoever. All you need is closed toe shoes, some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and a desire to help make a difference in someone’s life.

Socials:
The next social is tba If you are planning on going, please contact Dave Oyler or sign up from the website.

Fundraisers:
This year we are planning on increasing our fundraising, and we need your help. Chris Jones will head a fundraising committee made up of members that want to help us reach our new fundraising goals. If you are interested, please contact Chris Jones.
Collecting membership dues is actually our largest fundraiser. If every member were to pay their dues, we would be half way towards sponsoring a house. If you need to pay dues, either come to the next meeting or contact our treasurer at Alecia Beriswill.

Point System:
This year we are implementing a point system to keep track of exceptional involvement. At the end of the semester we will be recognizing those members with the most points. For more details on the point system, visit: ,www.aggiehabitat.com/info/points.aspx.

Next Meeting:
Our next meeting will be at a different location. It will be held on Wednesday tba.
